Our story

Amici di Penna began with an Italian mum from Trieste who moved to Australia in 2017. Raising her son, Ron, between two cultures and languages led to a simple idea: give children a way to connect with the world through handwritten letters.

A letter gives a child time to practise a language, ask questions, share interests and discover how another family lives. It is more than a message. It is a small piece of someone’s story.

What began as a small project for bilingual children has grown into an international, non-profit community of more than 160 families. Amici di Penna brings families together around friendship, curiosity and the lasting pleasure of real post.
