Terms and conditions
These terms set the ground rules for using the Amici di Penna website and taking part in the pen pal community. Parents and guardians remain responsible for their child’s participation and every decision to contact another family.

Accepting these terms
By creating or using a parent account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not register or use the member area. The privacy policy explains how personal information is handled.
Who can join
You must be at least 18 years old and be a parent, legal guardian or other adult with authority to make decisions for the child whose profile you manage. Children do not create accounts and must use the community with active adult guidance.
You are responsible for deciding whether Amici di Penna and any proposed pen pal connection are suitable for your child.
Accounts and approval
Registration details must be accurate and kept up to date. Keep your password private and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account.
New accounts are reviewed before access to the member area is approved. Approval is a basic moderation check. It is not proof of identity, a criminal history check, a professional assessment or an endorsement by Amici di Penna.
We may ask for more information, refuse an application or close a duplicate or misleading account. Decisions will be based on the safety and proper operation of the community.
Using the community
Parents create and manage child profiles, browse limited profile summaries and choose whether to send or accept a connection request. A match is an introduction between parents. It does not guarantee a reply, a suitable friendship or an ongoing exchange.
Keep profile information limited to the fields provided. Do not publish a child’s surname, full date of birth, photograph, school, town, email address, phone number or postal address. Do not ask a child to contact another adult directly.
After parents agree to connect, they can message each other on the website, adult to adult, and decide what contact and postal information to exchange. Each parent remains responsible for supervising communication, choosing an appropriate return address and ending an exchange that no longer feels right.
Use the invitation feature only for adults you know who would reasonably expect to hear from you. Do not use it for lists, promotion or unsolicited email.
Letters and standard post
Amici di Penna introduces families. It is not a postal carrier and does not handle or deliver letters.
Families normally use standard postal mail to keep participation affordable. Standard mail is generally untracked and may be delayed, damaged or lost. Amici di Penna cannot guarantee delivery, a reply or the condition of anything sent.
The sending family chooses and pays for postage. Parents must follow the rules of the postal services and customs authorities in the countries involved. Do not send money, valuables, prohibited goods, unsafe material or anything that the receiving family has not agreed to receive.
Community conduct
Treat other families with respect. Content and conduct must be suitable for a family community.
Do not use Amici di Penna to harass, threaten, shame or discriminate against anyone; share sexual, exploitative, violent or illegal material; impersonate another person; advertise or send spam; collect information about families for another purpose; scrape the website; or attempt to bypass its privacy and security controls.
If a letter, message, profile or request causes concern, stop the exchange and report it through the contact page. Do not confront a child or continue contact while a serious concern is being reviewed.
Content you provide
You keep ownership of the profile information and other content you submit. You give Amici di Penna a limited, non-exclusive permission to store, review and display that content only as needed to run and moderate the service.
Only submit content you are entitled to share. Letters exchanged outside the website remain the responsibility of the sending and receiving families.
Reports and account action
We may remove content, limit access, pause an account or close an account where there is a safety concern, a serious or repeated breach of these terms, misuse of the service, or a legal requirement to act. Where it is safe and practical, we will explain the reason and give the account holder a chance to respond.
The website is not monitored at every moment. Parents should report concerns promptly and contact local emergency services or police where someone may be in immediate danger.
Closing an account
You may delete your account from the member area. Account deletion removes the account and its associated information from the live website, subject to the limited backup or legal retention described in the privacy policy.
Amici di Penna may change, pause or discontinue part of the free service. Reasonable notice will be given where a change materially affects active accounts and it is practical to do so.
Service limits and legal rights
To the extent permitted by law, Amici di Penna is not responsible for postal delays or losses, the conduct of another family, a parent’s matching decision, or an outage or failure caused by a postal service or other third party.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right, guarantee or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when the service changes or the law requires it. The date at the top will show the latest version. Parents will be told about a material change before it applies to continued use of the member area.
